Essays and Articles by Romulus Hillsborough

This section of my web site is devoted to articles and essays by Romulus Hillsborough author of Ryoma: Life of a Renaissance Samurai and Samurai Sketches published by Ridgeback Press of San Francisco.

The author kindly offered to allow me to post these articles here. These will be of interest to anyone who is interested in the history of 19th century Japan, particulary the bakumatsu period. I also strongly recommend these essays, and the author's books, to anyone who is a fan of the Rurouni Kenshin anime series. You will see alot of familar names here and many that are not familiar.
